Visual Indicator Pointer, the heat compass

The titanium Visual Indicator Pointer is the part that keeps the VI coil in position inside the VI housing.
The VI coil makes the VI Pointer moving, when heat is transferred by the Induction sleeve and thermal matrix of the Cap.

To replace the VI Pointer, the VI coil/spring has to be disassembled, it can be a hard task for some people to install these parts correctly.

Please, don't heat the VI housing directly and watch out for possible dust/particles/anything, who could enter inside the Visual Indicator housing and make the VI not function properly.
Heating directly (torch or IH) the VI housing will damage your temp indicators forever.
Moving by hands the VI pointer could end up deforming the VI coil shape.

Depending on the method of heating and the shape of the VI coil, it's possible that the VI pointer can never reach the third/high temp position.
Blowing air on it or wind is enough to affect the VI Pointer position.
Overall, the temp indicators must be treated more like a heat estimation from the Cap, not a temperature control.

In case of replacement, there is only one way to install the VI Pointer correctly.
One important step before starting the VI coil assembly, is to make sure to position the Visual Indicator Pointer stays at the cold temperature/start position.
