Everything better with the upgrade to my V1. Thanks for giving early adopters the options to not feel left out.
I thought case was gonna be too big but it's perfect.
Madheaters rocks as usual.
This isn't an essential purchase if you are happy with your T1 but as someone with both, this upgrade does make it perform more like a T2. The kit comes all together pre assembled; remove one screw and replace the sleeve then add the new kit and screw, job done. Airflow improves and the visual indicator is dialled in with the new setup, using it next to a T2 it's hard to tell the difference.
This is a great improvement on the last generation of the Tempest, giving improved heating performance and also holding the sleeve more tightly so it stays in the desired position.
Nice to see it comes with the indicators and spring assembled - do be careful taking it out the bag to make sure they stay that way. You'll need a flat scredriver to install as while the debowling tool works, it's a little soft and may bend if the screw has tightened. I also took the oportunity to take some fine emery and clean up the top of the previous head where it fits under the spring to make sure its free moving.
Benefits are better heating, especially with induction, slightly longer heat, more useful indicator click levels and a quicker reset and a coloured indicator. Worth the money and gives you a performance closer to the Tempest 2 but with all the additional airflow options the original had.
Having in one’s hand the latest version of a device without feeling that the previous version is to be retired has been my experience with MH since I joined the community with the Revolve Gen 2. That does not seem to have changed.
In anticipation of the Tempest V2 I kind of rediscovered my T1 and spent a lot of time with the two that I have - a full Ti Tempest 1 and a black one with Revolve CU. I realized that I intended to keep them with limited upgrades other than what MH will be offering for the sake of their own character and performance that I like. I got my two upgrade kits for Tempest V1 in the first limited release and I am very happy I followed up on my initial intention- the upgrade kit does just what it is intended to. I appreciate the better heat retention. I also like the feel of added weight. Better operation of the click and V.I. functions is another plus and they come handy when you need them. I have found ways to use and enjoy both the T1 and T2. T2 however hits harder and is easier to use out of the box.
To me, T2 is the ultimate version so far of the MH quest for optimum cooling and airflow. Easy to use, versatile, hard hitting…. I personally appreciate the ease of use and I think that reduces user error for a pleasant and tasty vaping experience!
Anyway, bravo and thank you @Brenyo for the continued treats! You are setting standards in many critical aspects of this very complex industry. Robust and colourful products combined with excellent and consistent communication and customer service is a winning business model.
I have had a Tempest since Oct 2023. Even the beta build was one of (if not was) my favourite vape. It was my sit back and toke away or "joint-like" vaporizer. I currently have all the major analog or butane vapes, from the lotus/DV all the way up in bowl size to the TA/Fusion2/Tornado. I also have TRWW vapes and desktop ball vapes. The Tempest has been my favourite vape to hit natively no question (it is also really great through a glass piece). Very smooth and flavourful with great heat retention.
Since installing the upgrade (which conveniently came pre-assembled), pretty much every aspect of the Tempest has worked better. The clicks and visual indicator are bang on perfect and the heat retention has had a seriously notable extension in time. It has upgraded from my personal favourite joint-like vape to unquestionably my best vape at simulating a joint like experience. Also with the thicker induction layer it is much harder to accidentally overheat and combust. Another benefit is that with using an Inductor the layer does not "discolour" in places like it did with the thin beta layer. Now it has a nice uniform gold/brown colour. Heat ups are also incredibly quick with the inductor. Very very happy with this upgrade and genuinely surprised at the huge difference it made.
I thought my T1 devices were endgame.
The T2 came and I put it in rotation using the same stems as my T1 heads. Slowly I found myself favoring the T2 head and consciously or unconsciously choosing it first and more often in the line-up.
Then I got a T1 upgrade kit. Everything came attached to a magnet making the swap easy.
I'm running my T1 upgraded head at full bowl and the T2 head at the second deeper setting but not full bowl for an equivalent usage level.
I no longer have any notice or preference as to which head is on the stem I grab.
Once more come in stock I'll complete upgrades.
It's a nice quality of life upgrade not more not less. the green indicator is nice to look at and the bimetallic strip works much better than the OG one especially since my OG one was already combusting at indicator level 2. The click diska click earlier but to my disappointment still don't work as nicely as in the OG dyna AP caps were the cool down click also means no vapor anymore.
I loved my T1 and didn't expect any improvement over it then Madheaters came with the Tempest 2 the best manual vape for the time being, then Madheaters release the upgrade kit which make the T1 a new device, improved heat retention, flavour efficiency, I love the conduction from the smaller bowl from the t1.
The efficiency of the t2 and the t1 with upgrade kit is equivalent apart the bigger bowl from the t2.
Thanks for all the crew MH!
This is pretty much the only vape I use now.
Arrived promptly to UK, this works very well indeed. Using my Wand with V1 adapter, settings as for Ti, full bowl it hits very well.
Screw down adjustment lock for the head air holes, very rapid induction heating, excellent 8)
Fitting was fairly easy once I had removed a large very strong magnet that was attached to the pre-built kit. . been ill past few days so brain fog didn't help.
Jump on it for your V1!
