Tempest 2 Slim

The GOAT. Nothing was wrong with the t2 however mad heaters found ways to improve it with the t2s. I love everything about the stainless steel setup. I wasn't a fan of the body so I customized mine into something even cooler. Thats what is so amazing with the t2s. It's however you want it!

Used a competitor for years and always heard good things about the T2. When I saw the T2 slim get released I had to give it a try and was blown away from the first use. It’s retired a few vapes I had in the rotation, it’s that good.

An amazing battery free vape, easy to clean and keep maintained. Pairing it with a YLL 3.0 completes it. Very flavourful and you can be sure to get the most out of your herb. Do you need 1 if you already own a tempest 2? No, but you should still get 1 😀

Vapes boss, feels nice in the hand, no complaints at all

Admittedly I’m very late to the Tempest party . I’m so impressed, I’ve bought the Tempest 2 slim and have also trawled the internet, to purchase an original Tempest 2 (hard to find)

Believe the hype, it’s absolutely justified. Brilliantly engineered, simple to use. Works flawlessly, it’s just incredibly easy to dial in the perfect session.

It’s also a piece of kit, that you know will last you a lifetime. Its construction feels so well thought out and …… just usable.

The unfortunate thing about loving this device so much is, all my other DHV devices are currently sitting in a draw. It’s genuinely retired premium devices, which is testament to how good the Tempest 2 slim is.

I rarely leave reviews, this one was a no brainier.

MAD Heaters asked me to review the Tempest 2 Slim, but to do that properly I first need to give my experience with the Tempest 2, which I bought in November 2025. The Tempest 2 is a perfect device. It hits hard and tastes great. Flavour-wise, it’s slightly behind my Solo 3, but it tastes better than my Wireless One Hit Wonder, which is a literal ball vape with wide-open airflow. That says a lot about a portable thermal extraction device, or TED, tasting better and hitting harder than an actual ball vape. I have two months of experience with my Wireless One Hit Wonder now, with over 700 bowls through it, and it hits hard and tastes great. It just doesn’t hit as hard or taste as good as the Tempest 2. It’s close, but the Tempest 2 is really in a league of its own, at least the way I have mine set up. There are a thousand different ways to configure one, but my setup hits harder and tastes better than my Wireless One Hit Wonder while tasting only slightly less good than my Solo 3, which is in a league of its own for flavour. The Tempest 2 feels great in the hand, and its 10, 14, and 18 millimeter tapered mouthpiece fits natively onto all of my glass. I can use it natively like a joint or put it on a bong. The draw restriction is perfect for me because I can take my time and milk an entire straight tube instead of whitening it out instantly like the Wireless One Hit Wonder. I’m using the YLL 3.0 with a titanium heater core, so my Tempest 2 is essentially fully titanium. There are no balls in the head to worry about falling out. The only stainless steel parts are the screens and induction sleeve.

The Tempest 2 Slim is perfection, just like the Tempest 2. I bought mine in the all-black stainless steel variant with the black PPS heat shield. My original Tempest 2 is titanium and originally had a purple aluminum heat shield. I later bought a titanium heat shield for the full titanium look and a black walnut heat shield for more of a blunt-looking aesthetic, so I have three different sleeves for it. Once Sleepy Ghost 515 starts making sleeves for the Tempest 2 Slim, I think I’ll pick up black walnut and purpleheart, but for now I’m rocking the black PPS sleeve. Performance-wise, it hits exactly the way I expect a Tempest 2 to hit. I already know my YLL settings, airflow settings, draw cadence, technique, and glass, so there wasn’t much of an adjustment period. The difference is that this one is stainless steel. I’m running the Slim at 85 watts with a 56-second timer on the YLL, using a stainless steel heater core with no balls. My titanium Tempest 2 is at 85 watts with a 45-second timer, but I don’t use the whole timer. I base it on where the Tempest clicks and pull it five seconds after the click. If it clicks at 20 seconds, I pull it at 15; if it clicks at 10, I pull it at five. That gives me dark coffee-bean AVB—not toasted, just dark coffee-bean AVB. The flavour is pretty much neck and neck, sitting just below my Solo 3. On the stainless steel Slim, the flavour is still so good and the clouds are huge. I really don’t know which one I like more. I think I might like the stainless steel more because it hits a little harder and tastes almost as good. The titanium tastes slightly better and hits slightly weaker, but they both still hit harder than my ball vape. I’m also in love with the aesthetic: purple Reload and purple case for my original purple titanium Tempest 2, and black Reload and black case for my all-black stainless steel Tempest 2 Slim.

The main thing I didn’t like about my Tempest was that I couldn’t run it back to back. That’s why I bought the Wireless One Hit Wonder. It’s a ball vape, so I can use it over and over again. The problem is that even though I can run it back to back to back, it still doesn’t hit as hard as my Tempest. It gets maybe 90 or sometimes 95 percent of the way there, but it never quite hits as hard and certainly isn’t as consistent. Every time I pick up the Tempest, I get a huge cloud and great flavour. I always wanted to be able to do that more than once without waiting 10 minutes for the bowl to cool back down. I’ve had my Tempest 2 Slim since Monday, and it’s Wednesday afternoon now, so I have about 48 hours with it. I’m literally running the titanium Tempest 2 and then the stainless steel Tempest 2 Slim back to back to back while the ball vape sits untouched in the background. I’m not worried about either Tempest combusting because one cools down while the other is being used. I don’t want to say it’s like having a ball vape, because both Tempests hit harder and taste better than the ball vape, but the main problem of not being able to run the Tempest back to back has been eliminated by having two of them. I’ve got nothing but good things to say about both the Tempest 2 and the Tempest 2 Slim.

IMO the most aesthetically pleasing of the Tempest line up so far, the Slim packs the same punch you can expect from the standard T2 in a sleeker more manufacture friendly design. If you’re wanting to use your Tempest mainly through a waterpiece then look at the T2, with the stem being specifically designed to fit natively in all your bubblers.. otherwise I’d say the Slim is your guy now. A microdose bowl setting is now available too which is lovely to see. I’m running a Ti Slim with wooden sleeve (available soon) and the Ti heater core with the Yll 3.0 and this will be the setup now I would imagine until MH comes up with a T3.

This is a fine evolution of the Tempest line, and I'm actually enjoying it more than my Tempest 2 original. It has all the positive features of it's predecessor but the heater has been improved, and the airflow increase is phenomenal! A sheer pleasure to use, yet substantially cheaper and a powerful challenger to it's competitors. If you like manual vapes, you'll almost certainly love this example!

I have been buying from MAD Heaters for some time and I now have almost the complete Tempest collection. Unfortunately, both my original Tempest V1 in titanium and my Tempest 2 in titanium were stolen. However, I liked the products so much that I eventually bought another Tempest 2 in titanium.
I was also lucky enough to try one of the first new Tempest 2 Slim models, and I have been extremely impressed. The build quality, design, performance and attention to detail are all excellent. MAD Heaters clearly puts a lot of effort into creating high-quality products for people who really appreciate portable vaporizers.
The customer service and support have also been excellent. MAD Heaters kindly offered me a very good discount, which made it possible for me to continue building my collection at a much better price.
In my opinion, MAD Heaters is a fantastic company with excellent products. The Tempest range is well designed, durable, powerful and enjoyable to use. Considering the current prices and the quality you receive, the Tempest 2 and Tempest 2 Slim offer very good value for money.
Highly recommended to anyone looking for a premium, reliable and beautifully made vaporizer. I am very happy with my collection and I will continue to support MAD Heaters.

Incredibly sturdy. It feels like a jet engine on a personal airplane. If you know how to handle it there is nowhere it can't take you. I am sure you can drive a car over it and then pick it up and use it as usual.

As a Tempest 2 user, I couldn't resist the lure of the slim.
I chose the SS version, which has 3mm quartz balls in the cap.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Tempest 2 (I have 2 of them) and the Titanium and wood one I have is gorgeous BUT, a sleeker, slimmer, less errrrr "Sonic Screwdriver" model? Yeah I'm having that.

Hand feel is important to me, as beautiful as looks (it does too) it needs to be nice in the hand to get that reach for love, and it feels very balanced, solid, and well put together

Performance wise. It hits as hard as the 2 (I've recently reduced my morning use, and I was heavily medicated on the 1st bowl!)
Flavour is on point, really turpy even when heated to mark 3 on the cap (I never run to the click on these)
I used the same yll3 method as I do for the 2, spacer under the puck in the heater, 80w 33 seconds, wait for the indicator to creep up to line 3, and vape, a 13 second reheat, then check the indicator, and that clears the bowl

2 bowls back to back, and both of us need a minute, I'm blowing bubbles and T Slims getting a bit toasty, not so hot that a 3rd couldn't be had, but hotter than the T2, as is expected because of the ss and lack of wooden grip/heatshield.
The internal cooling unit remains the same, with 2 other variants available separately

The cap uses the same internals, but the SS version has a sleeker, not fluted design, they are interchangeable with the T2

The whole this is made of 6 parts, the same number as the T2, with 3 O rings ( 2 on the bowl, 1 on the stem) which is 1 more.

The bowl now has a further smaller screen setting (I should have chosen that 1st ffs lol) and after filling each one 5 times, and weighing/dividing, holds approx' 0.03, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.15g respectively of my medium ground herb, there is an included tool to help set the screen.

N.B. When you use the smallest bowl setting, the screen actually sits above the side holes in the cap, this affects 2 things
1, You will need to close the airflow in the cap off, more than you usually would, oe you won't get good vapour
2, if you straw pack, you'll get tiny bits of herb in your mouth (ask me how I know)

The bowl is interchangeable with the T2

The mouthpiece, being Slim, now only fits a 10mm wpa fitting, the T2 fits 14mm as well

A spares bag is provided, and contains the bowl setting tools, spare screens, o rings, a few spare balls, and a screwdriver

A separate bag with Zirconia balls was also supplied

All in all a solid performer, well made, lovely to use and look at imho, and a worthy addition to any collection

Pretty much replaced my tempest 2 completely. Toastier heavier vapor that feels great on the throat. Easier to disassemble and clean, plastic sheild feels great and i was worried about that but all good.

This is my 3rd tempest and honestly my favorite. I also have all the other main torch vapes - tornado, anvil, hydro, punch v2 etc besides the tornado, the slim is easily my 2nd favorite vape. I have the hydro xl on the way so that may change.

Hopefully something is in the works that will compete in the heavy category with stuff like the hydro xl, verdavap, tornado etc

The best budget vaporizer on the market right now. I tried over 20 battery and analog vapes. Including tempests, tornado, anvil, simrells, tm2, solo 3, taffee Flaske. This one can compete with the top vapes in the market for a fraction of the price.

The titanium version feels lightweight, taste great. Hits hard but has slightly more of a head high. Heatup time is fast (33 seconds in my yll 3.0 with titanium heater core). This is a tempest 2 in a other form factor for a great price.

Love it! This is a fantastic bit of kit for the price. I’m really enjoying the slightly longer session the ss bowl and core combo gives. I like the slimline stem too, it feels a nice weight in the hand and looks the business in black. Its certainly getting plenty of use. I think my ti t2 is still the favourite, but the slim definitely isn’t slim on performance!!!

Wonderful device. Nice and even extraction. Very tastfull vapor. Far nicer then all my dynavape devices. Far less harsh vapors from this device. I like the temperature gauge 👌🏻

Tempest 2 slim has exceeded all my expectations. Coming from the Tempest 1 and Tempest 2 I was skeptical on the changes in the Slim being something I needed. After a week of use I’m glad I jumped on the slim as it’s surpassed the first two in my reach tests now. Bravo MH!
